Have been up to Coppull for the weekend and spent 2 nights at No.24. All is well, cut the grass which wasn't too long. Your lawn mower and strimmer made it v easy. Mum weeded and the garden looks just fine. Sim I had to change a rear wheel on your car as the tyre was getting flat - will "pump up" or "repair" next visit. Ran car engines and moved both cars slightly to reduce "tyre flats". Went over to H'field and visited A J & UK, UM & AK. Also spent a very wet afternoon in Hepanstall near Hebdon Bridge - but v intreresting place despite the weather - though doubt it beats experiences!!
Everyone V pleased with your postcards including Dave next door.
Your tour around Canada sounds just fantastic - do they take "oldies" on TreK America?? Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Hi everyone - thanks for the messages, its good that you are keeping us up to date with whats going on. We don't get any news out here. We hope that Matthew had a great time - its sounds like he did.
We haven't seen any bears yet - but to be honest we don't think any of us are that bothered about getting too close to them. We have seen Reindeer, Elk, Big Horned Sheep, Gophers and mountain goats - not bad so far.
Hope everyone is ok. x

Hi again.
we all went to watch Huddersfield Town play Barnsley last night, Matthew (our 8 yr old Grandson) was a mascot for Town. Talk about bouncing off the walls! He had a super time even though it was bitter colld and pouring down. The sprinklers were on! we dont have a hosepipe ban here - yet, he was playing footy on the pitch with two other mascots, when a sprinkler near them went on! Three soaked little boys! Town lost 3 - 1. My feelings, thank goodness we don't need tickets for Cardiff!
Barnsley now are ;playing Swansea at Cardiff for promotion to Championship. Leeds play Watford on Sunday.
Regards from all of us, Kath & co

Whoops! got dead excited about the bear story and it made me forget to let you know what is happening here. Well! it obviously is not as exciting as your adventure, but I did the Race for Life on Sunday to raise money for Cancer Research. It was very cold but I soldiered on. Even so there were 3,000 women who took part. I could have ran all the way but I had to walk with Julie so she wouldn't feel left out (and if you believe that you will believe anything).

Steve has filled me in with your escapades whilst in Banff and Calgary. I am looking forward to the photographs and also the bear story.

Watchout for Bears! Have you seen any yet? They will be after your bacon Jim. Sounds as if you have a good mixed group to camp with and very different from your swish hotels so far. We are enjoying sharing your travels and followed in your wake in NY. We were impressed when we got on the Fung Wah to be given a dollar to put in a box if we felt the driver was doing a good job. We thought that was very reassuring until he set off and we wondered if he had driven before let alone a bus. He gained confidence as we went along and we got there fine (and put in our dollar !) We went to the MoMA and saw THE GOAT thought of you two, really enjoyed it. How are you finding the camping Simone? Do you have 'plugs out' routine Jim? It all sounds great. Grans treatment at last begins here next week. The "wall" is progressing - phase 1 complete!! love Mum and Dad
