First blog from Thailand! Been in Kanchanaburi for a couple of days now. Just finished a Thai cooking class; we made pad Thai, tofu with cashew nut and hot and spicy shrimp soup. So full now!
Yesterday we went to Erawan national park to swim in the waterfalls. It was so pretty! But there were monkeys everywhere and they weren't very friendly... unlike the fish that eat your dead skin which were a bit too friendly!
Bangkok, especially Khao San Road, is a crazy place. Everywhere is filled with stalls and street sellers, food stands selling octopus, crickets, maggots and tons of disgusting looking things! We went to see Wat Arun, the reclining Buddha and the grand palace, which were all amazing. We also went to the floating market which was cool.
Just after we arrived we went to Chatuchak weekend market, which has about 15000 stalls and sold pretty much anything you can think of.
The weather has been pretty great so far, plenty of sunshine and hardly any rain, but it's so hot all the time. Tomorrow is the Bhuddist temple where we do meditation, and then on Friday we go to the tiger temple! Tonight we are meant to be having a fancy dress night but nobody really has a costume so we might have to go into town later to look for something to wear. Right now I'm feeling pretty sleepy so I think I'll go and sunbathe by the pool.
