Hello everyone,
We have been in Cairns since Monday and we are really enjoying it. We are staying at a place called Asylum Backpackers, a place with a name that truly fits - all that is missing are the padded walls and nailed down furniture. To be fair it is really good value, especially as we are getting free evening meals. It's also well located in Cairns - we can easily walk into the centre of the city.
On Wednesday I did a 14000ft skydive which was really cool. I'd tried on the Tuesday but unfortunately it was raining so it had to be cancelled. I paid extra to have a video of it which turned out quite well.
Yesterday we went on our trip to the Great Barrier Reef. We spent the day right out at the edge on Moore Reef. Sian went on two snorkel tours with the marine biologist, and I went on three scuba dive trips. We had a great time and we got to meet Roxy, a Maori Wrasse. She's very friendly and always comes over for a hug and a photo. There is a photo of me with her in our new album. Thankfully we didn't see any big man-eating sharks, but we were a little disappointed we didn't see any reef sharks. We did however find Nemo! Many times!
Tomorrow we are off to Cape Tribulation Rainforest for a day tour. We are looking forward to seeing all the wildlife, and we hope to get some good pics for you.
