So from Honduras I spent 2 days making my way to Belize, first stop a small beach village called Placencia. It had a nice beach and all the locals are very friendly. I spent one evening in a bar with all the locals playing cards and learning how to speak Creole! Then I went north to an island called Caye Caulker. One highlight here was eating at Rasta Pasta (a recommendation from Ros and Ozzie!) and of course snorkelling with sting rays and sharks at Shark Ray Alley. I wanted to do some diving too and was booked on to do 3 dives, one including the famous Blue Hole. But the trip got postponed by a couple of days, by which point I had a cold and was advised not to dive. So I was really disappointed but it just means I have a good excuse to go back!
Then I got a bus all the way back to Antigua in Guatemala and spent my last day doing last minute shopping and climbing the active volcano Pacaya. It was a hard hike and actually quite dangerous, climbing over sharp hot rocks and then you stand about 10 foot away from flowing lava! I have photos to prove it!!
Now I am in Madrid on my city break holiday but I am very very cold and its raining, I hope its warmer in London! It was sad to leave Central America behind but I would love to go back there again. I have had an amazing few months...there have been some hard times but mostly I have had lots of fun, memorable experiences and made some great new friends too. But now I can't wait to get home, drink some '5alive' and see you all very very soon!! xxxxxxxxx
