I arrived in San Jose late arvo and was picked up by a transfer ... It was cheaper then  cab and didnt want to be stressing catching buses alone. The transfer guy spoke great english and was friendly and funny :-) liking Central America already! I got to my hostel - Costa Rica Backpackers just before dusk. The guy behind the counter was pretty useless and gave me directions to the wrong room - a boys only dorm so suprised some guy that was sleeping ...  In ...

So I went back to Quito after Galapagos on the earlier flight arriving 2.30pm. I was now on my lonesome and will be until home (sorry but Bruce & Angel the teddy bears don't count!). So no one to lead me  and no one to tell me when I'm getting ripped off and what to watch out for! (Hernan I miss you!) So I leave the airport & walk to taxi rank - 'Taxi miss?'. 'Si!' I say to the guy standing at the head of the queue. He puts my bag into a nearby car. ...

Day 1 - Baltra Airport / Santa Cruz Islands - The Twin Craters / Highlands I arrived in Balta Island Airport Galapagos and was happy to find free wifi and my last for the next 7 days! We arrived in Quito on the Sunday afternoon and little was open but I had so much to do!!! When we arrived we bumped into the couple who had left the trip in Banos as they were staying at the hostel next door. They gave me a great tip for last minute Galapagos trips, so headed off to the Internet cafe to do some research on that and out to see if any book stores were open to get a Central America Lonely Planet. We were staying in New Town in the Mariscal area...
