Haleakala Crater
10,000 feet - this crater was formed by erosion and not by actual volcanic activity. The mountain at one point was actually 15,000 feet high but due to erosion by wind and water, it eventually carved out the crater. Haleakala is still considered to be an active volcano and the small domes in the crater are caused by recent magma flow.
