Hey Everyone,
It has been a while and I have covered some distance since my last blog. We spent some time in a very rainy and wet Malawi on Lake Malawi but the highlight was definitely spending some time in a local village and visiting the local school where 1200 children are taught by 7 teachers. There are 150 children to one teacher in year three and they sit on a cold cement floor in a bare room to do their lessons. Australian children certainly are privellaged. What got to me the most though was how much they value education and respect the teachers, the chidlren carry their one little tatty book around so preciously and with such care.
After Malawi we crossed into Tanzania and then on to Zanzibar where we spent a great couple of days relaxing on the gorgeous beaches. My leg has finally began to look a bit better after a few days in the salt water and I had my hair plaitted into tiny plaits with extensions so it is now all plaitted and down to my waist.
We leave Zanzibar in a few hours so I am going to do a bit of shopping before we leave.
Take care everyone, I will try to call you mum to work out how to get home. If I can't can you please send me and email with your plans. If you book a flight see if you can organise it for the next day and I will stay with Aliesha overnight as it is a 21 hour trip already.
Thanks love to all
Sharon
