Left the hotel after breakfast about half 7. The guy who sold us the tickets said it would be a 20 minute drive to the closest port. Turns out it was a near 2 hour + plus past Sengiggi right to the top of Lombok to cross over to Gili Air. p**** couldn't of just said that from the start. Nevertheless, on my travellings everyone always asks where the best place you have been is and a very frequent one is the Gili Islands here so we were buzzing to start on Gili Air! Boiling heat today, took about 20 minutes to cross over from Lombok to Gili Air and it just strikes you as soon as you step on the land how beautiful this place is. Stunning! We went to our hostel called Kokowa and put our stuff down then headed straight out for lunch on the beach. Went to 2 places throughout the afternoon Rhi was pretty hanging from last night and I was tired from the early start so all afternoon we just sat in little bamboo huts just staring into paradise! Happy days. Went out for dinner and it surprised us how quiet it was. Had food on the beach which was lush we had a pizza each as a treat for lunch so had something light and a few beers. We caught wind that their was a psy trance rave a bit down from where we were wouldn't be hard to find you can walk round the island in 2 and a half hours. Found this rave at a place called Lucky's but had a few beers in a bar just by it. Upon walking in we recognise a familiar face at the bar - Matthi from Ubud was here! Good to see him here he was leaving tomorrow for Kuta so said we would meet at the party tonight. Went to the party and it was pretty crazy to be fair tunes no end and everyone stomping the s*** out of the floor. Met some cool locals, a guy who was the Oz Dave Britten who was hilarious dancing round loving life and 3 Geordie lads one of them was a bit weird to start with but we were all having a crack after love the Geordie banter they were hilarious. Ended up back at the hostel around 4ish on a little adventure ha then hit the sack waiting for the hangover tomorrow to kick in!
