Feilding NZ, Afghanistan
Kia Ora!!
Thats the only maori phrase that i picked up so far but its still early!!
So as you all know i left last monday! I then flew into Sydney where i had a good catch up with spence! we chilled around for the day and saw some sights etc! then went back to his and crashed, it was short but mean to catch up with them!!
Then i flew into Auckland and met Billy Bowden (cricket umpire) at baggage, then was met by my cousin.... 2 hours after i landed!! but still! so went out with him that night before getting up and meeting the rest of the lattitude group at the airport!
meeting the group was cool, especially seeing the guys from gordons! although everyone was knackered!! that day we went to Wesley College in Auckland which is where jonah lomu went to school so that was pretty awesome and then we were greeted by a traditional maori welcoming!! After that everyone was pretty tired an jet lagged so we all crashed, a few of the gordons lot found a jaquzzi on the top floor of the hostel, which was in the skyline of all the tall buildings which was awesome! On our second day in auckland we chilled for a bit, told what we can and cant do, so no under age relationships for copas! then went up the sky tower, mean views, but did get a little light headed especially with the glass floors and watching the people do the 'skydrop' which is effectively a bungy but on a zip wire!!
After the orientation we were then all off to our destinations/schools, feilding was as rural as people described! however it has been voted new zealands most beautiful town 14 times in a row! but the school is pretty cool, first of i wasnt sure id like it and was pretty lonely but know im getting busier and making friends with the boys and staff! I've been at a tournament these last fews days with the schools development team made up of year 10 and 11 kids who have been playing 1st teams so doing really well, not winning matches but definately holding there own! the 1st's have the national co-ed final up in rotaroa this weekend so should be interesting to see how they get on! the standard seems pretty good though!
Anyways, best get off, hope your all good!! love sewelly xx
