After surviving a very long and smelly night train journey from Paris to Naples we found ourselves at the station searching for our hostel.
As soon as we approached near to our hostel we seemed to find ourselves swarmed by local Italians guiding us to the hostel. One lady even took us right to the door! Very warm and friendly neighbourhood :)
Left for Pompeii at 2pm and when we arrived we took an audio guide through the ruins. Walked around all the areas of Pompeii. Very surreal! Highlights of the trip include the brothel, bodies and amphitheatre. Crazy to think this has all been extraverted from 1000's of years ago. Such intricate details seen in particular with the models of the bodies and crafts.
We went out to an authentic Italian pizzeria for dinner. Walking down the streets of Naples we could see crowded locals around a tv watching the Italy World Cup match against Uruguay. The atmosphere was amazing; horns, shouting and arguing in Italian. When we arrived in the pizzeria we thought we'd join in with the spirit so ordered our pizza' sand peroni's and sat to watch the match. Sadly Italy lost, however, watching angry Italians is very funny!
Now off to Roma tonight :)
