I just wanted to thank each of you for keeping up with me while I'm on this trip. It's been so great sharing these experiences with you and hearing all of your support! It really means allot to me.
We went to a town called The Hague today, and yes it does have The in the title. I made sure to ask Iris our tour guide. She laughed at me when I asked her the second time to clarify why it was so. We made it to three museums - Mauritshuis (Moritz House), Gemeente Municiple Museum and the Het Palace (the MC Escher museum). I saw Vermeer's Girl in the Pearl Earring and a ton of MC Escher's drafts. He was such an amazing draftsman. Did you know that he initially went to school to become an architect? It totally explains why he is so great at perspective and visual illusions. His museum is in an old palace that belongs to the Queen. I got to use the WC (wash closet) of royal people! It had a hanging handle that you pull to flush the toilet. We also saw some live street art being done with sand art. You have to see the pictures I posted it is absolutely mind boggling how someone can create out of sand.
My favorite part of the day - playing in the North Sea! It was so cold, but so worth getting my capris soaked. A wave came up from behind me and got Beth up to her knees and got me up to my waist….how is that fair? But luckily it was so windy that I dried up very fast and didn't have to go to dinner soaked! My camera battery died, but I'll post sea pictures I get from a friend tomorrow. It was breathtaking!
I've posted more pics in a new folder. Love you all!
