On the second most northern island in all of Fiji's islands. It look a little while on our big yellow boat (4 hours) thankfully it was a speed boat so wasnt effected much by the waves. We had smaller boats come meet us to take us and our bags to our hostels on the beach. Arrived safely in Taupo and stopped off to look at the the Huka Falls which were absolutely amazing! We're in a really nice hostel with a Spa pool and a really cute cat! Lake Taupo is huge! On the trip up from Kaikoura we stopped at a lookout to watch the fur seals, that was really great to see! There were hundreds of them and most of the adults just lazed around on beach in sun, while the young ones were playing in the pools and fighting! So very much like humans really! Well we survived the 3 hour ferry trip from the south to north island! We were very tempted to fly it in just 25 min, but thought that was a bit grand for us lil backpackers! ...

Well we chilled out here for a few days, it's a really nice sleepy little seaside town, with some amazing views of mountains and the coast! We stayed in a great hostel, which was so relaxing and unique. It had and old record player and loadsa great old vinyls which were very funny to listen to.
