Hey dudes,
So this is where I am, Panajachel, Guatemala. It is beautiful, its one of the towns that surrounds Lake Atitlan - a large lake in the highlands flanked by two volanoes. Its quite touristy here which is surprising. There are lots of shops and stalls selling local handycrafts and every single local woman is dressed in traditional clothing. Its a very colourful place. I was lucky enough to meet a lovely czech couple on the bus from San Cristobal so we are staying in the same hotel. For the first time on this trip I have my own room with a big double bed and my own bathroom!!! Soooo good. Best nights sleep i´ve had since i arrived.
So anyway, just generally chilling here. Walked around the town yesturday and went and had some lunch by myself (oooooo independance) and bought a couple of presents etc. Sat by the lake in the sun for about an hour just watching the world go by as mum would say. Went back to the hotel as it got colder and chilled for a bit until the czechs came back and we all went for drinks.
Today we went on a boat trip around the lake, visiting the myan villages of San Pedro, San Antonio and San Something Else. Was kewlio. Just got back and had a fat lunch because i seem to be eating almost nothing these days. Just ran into two American ladies who were also on our bus from San Cristobal which seems to keep happening to me!
Anyway, i´m leaving for UESCO World Heritage site Antigua tomorrow which should be nice and hopefully I can meet some more people my age in a hostel, although it seems the best one is booked up so i guess ill just wing it.
Hope everythingis good back in the motherland.
Love and snickers (a daily occurance for me in this country)
