Up early to get to kuranda before first sky train!! First ones in koala park. Had pictures taken with Hogan a male 6 year old koala. Very sweet and soft but sharp claws. Then fed wallabies and female kangaroo with a joey in her pouch. Saw snakes and reptiles. Shopped in Market and bought rings and tee-shirts. Up at 6.30. Reef terminal 7.30 for boat departure. Catamaran Osprey V to Saxon reef for snorkelling. Wetsuits and snorkel donned and out into the Pacific ocean to see fish and coral. Back on boat, only few Chinese families but they all ignored all rules and advice!! All puked and wore wetsuits into cabin. Lunch, then quick move to Norman and Hastings reef. First day in outback Yorkeys Knob! Trish, the agent came up and helped us book tour to GBReef. Apartment is nice, 3beds, 2baths, good satellite tv. Right on beach. Drove into Cairns, quite provincial and quaint. Ate at Ochre. Didn't have Aussie meat platter, will have to next time lol. Underwater camera delivered for trip tomorrow. Went to tourist info got loads of leaflets. Back to apt, BBQ and tv!!

Left the hotel in Phuket yesterday morning at 8.30am. Arrived bkk at 11.45, now a 6 hour wait for flight to Sydney. Went by city train and skytrain to Paragon shopping mall. Lie in!! Lagoon cruise around the resort. Sheraton under renovation, huge hotel. Back for afternoon Thai cookery class. Other 2 peeps didn't turn up so private lesson for the Scutts!
