Mudumalai
After our time in Ooty we took the crazy road (36 hairpin bends) back down to the national park areas and stayed in a resort which was a private enclosure in the middle of the jungle of Bokkapurum (just outside Mudumalai). This was a little taste of paradise, it really was amazingly beautiful. Walking around the grounds and seeing the surrounding mountains and jungle made us feel serene and blissful. Our cottage had its own little garden complete with hammocks.
In the evening we went on a jeep safari through the jungle were we saw lots of different types of deer, monkey and an elephant. After the safari we had a great meal and sat around the campfire drinking and chatting.
The following morning we were due to get up at 5.30 to walk thorugh the jungle. However, we were woken at 5.00 by the sound of a creature scurrying around on our roof. Our morning trek through the jungle was pleasant we got views of the sunrise while deer wandered past us and several parrots were flying around us.
