Today we got up eary again as we had a four hour journey ahead of us to Kratie, a small town along the Mekong river. We went in a small mini-bus for this trip which was really cramped with no air-con. When we got there we had lunch then some people went off on a boat trip to go and see some fresh water dolphins. We left Siem Reap today at 6.45am to go to Kompong Cham. This was a 5 hour journey on a public bus, which wasn't too bad as there was air conditioning and we made a couple of stops but it was truly gross when the woman next to us was sick into her headscarf and then her little girl was sick too - probably due to the bumpyness of the road (Lauren you would have hated it!). We had a free morning today until 2pm where we just chilled out and tried to organise our route back from Vietnam to Bangkok for when this trip ends. The two routes we are debating are Ho Chi Minh up to Hanoi then plane back to Bangkok or overland back through Laos by bus and train. Today we got up at 5am as we all wanted to watch the sun rise over Angkor Wat - a massive temple complex here in Siem Reap. It was really hard to get up so early after yesterday but we didn't want to miss out. We had to get up at 5:30 am today (not a pretty sight!!!) to have breakfast and leave the hotel by 6:30 am. The first leg of the journey was fine, we were in a nice air conditioned mini-bus for about 4 hrs, which took us to Poipet (the border town for entry into Cambodia).
