We did it - we successfully negotiated the metro!! With a change!! Using an automated ticket machine!! And having to find an ATM on the way!! I'm rather pleased with myself - tour guide Barbie is back! (watch me make a complete mess of getting to the airport tomorrow afternoon now I've said that!!) Ps - Dinner: note to self - food courts are the future. The kids surveyed the many options and chose…hot dogs! I had a beef and noodles dish. We were all happy!!

We left our bus trip in Kowloon to experience the laser light show..…hmmm, the view was just beautiful at night, but the laser show left the children somewhat unimpressed!

This was the starting point of this afternoons trip. Tour guide Barbie (me) took a back seat and tour guide Shirley entertained and informed us. We saw: The highest point on the island (murky in the photo but impressive in person) Aberdeen Typhoon Harbour where there were lots of houseboats and gorgeous yachts. We also had a trip on a little sampan (water taxi). Next was a jewellery factory (amazingly I could have spent a fortune but came away almost empty ...

This innocuous looking beverage is truly hideous. A Hong Kong speciality (apparently) - mixed tea & coffee. I know, I know - what should I expect?! But the resulting concoction is far far worse than I could even imagine!!

I had 2 tired and fractious children when we reached the hotel. Food time! I successfully avoided MacDonalds and steered the kids to a more varied menu! Hazel has Honk Kong chicken, Adam has a rib eye steak and I have steak and crispy noodles! Funnily enough after a few mouthfuls our good moods have returned!!
