Another late start to the day due to last night spilling into the early hours of this morning! Walked up food street with a few others and had an ice-cream then came back to watch the 6 a side football tournament where the UK came last! This evening we had a girly night in and watched a video all huddled around a laptop!

Got up late and had lunch, went to the internet cafe and then meet Michelle for ice-cream. This afternoon we were asked to participate in some promotional work for a local English language school. It was poorly organised but we basically did a mini olympics outside the local Carrefore! There was a basic obstacle course and we were split into teams to represent countries. Unfortunately only 2 people per country could actually take part and so it was pretty boring ...

Last day of teaching practise today and it was quite sad to be saying goodbye to the students so soon - just as we had really been getting to know them. This afternoon we had a tutorial to find out who had been assigned to Kindergarden classes for their placement (as they have different lessons next week). No one in my group was in the list which we were all very relieved about. Went out for dinner with a couple of the Chinese assistants (who have been helping us...

Got up early this morning to have a shower as we were told that we wouldn't have water for 24 hours from 6:00. As it turned our we had water all day. Teaching was really good fun today - we are getting to know the students really well plus with the assessment pressure over we could relax a bit more. I did a lesson based on a typical day in an English school and then got them to compare it to a Chinese school day. I was amazed to hear that they start school at...

It was assesment day for our class today, so we were all very nervous. Our tutor Yoakim sat in on all our lessons to make sure we were competent enough to be let loose in a proper school on our own! Thankfully everyone did really well and the feedback we got were just points which we could use to improve. This afternoon we had a culture class in Chinese Calligraphy and then we spent the evening preparing for tomorrows classes.
