Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hey,
We have left Argetina now, which is a shame as we all really liked it. Though it might be better for our waist lines as we were getting seriously addicted to 'submarinos'. These are basically hot chocolates but they just give you a cup of hot milk and with it they give you a bar of chocolate (shaped like a submarine if you are lucky) and you melt the chocolate in the milk - so not only are they delicious they are fun too!!
The last place we to in Argentina was El Calafate. We went to visit the Moreno Glacier which was absolutely amazing. We had seen one in Ushuaia but that just looked like ice on a mountain but the Moreno was so cool. It was massive - the same size as Buenos Aires - and was on the water so you kept seeing massive chunks fall in the water which made a huge noise. The internet here is a bit slow and expensive but hopefully we'll get our photos of it up soon because you really need to see it!
We are in Puerto Natales at the moment in Chile. The town itself is quite small but most people are just passing though to go to the Torres del Paine national park. We went there yesterday which was good but we only spent the day there as opposed to 2 or 3 days as most people do as we are fed up trekking round in the cold and wet! It was definitely worth a visit though but staying any longer might of involved camping which is definitely not my cup of tea!!
Speaking of tea we found a lovely cafe here that does english tea and amazing carrot cake so im happy!!
Off to Punta Arenas in a bit to kill a few more days. We wanted to try and change our flight and get back up to Santiago sooner but it looks like it wont be possible so we may have a few days of boredom to come!
