Wow! What a day!! Today, Lauren and I were up early after a great night's sleep and went for a long walk through the village before breakfast. There weren't too many people out and about but it was great scenery.
After breakfast we took the bus to the re-nutrition centre where we were apart of the Sunday School program for 40 children. It was really neat to see all these little children with their bibles, dressed in the Sunday Best and eager to see what the Canadians had brought for them. We did the craft lesson and told them the story of Jonah and the whale...then we had each of the children make their own whale or fish from the craft supplies that we brought! It was amazing that even the older boys were very excited to do a craft and all the kids LOVE glitter! The picture of the little boy above wasn't well today...he was sick during the service but was still very interested in the craft. I captured the picture of him as he was sitting on his own in a corner admiring his new little fishy. Later we found out that he had lost both of his parents and was cared for by his aunt. He was a somber little man but adorable.
Some of the pictures today are of the area that was built a couple years back...the guys on the trip are going to be painting the main wall tomorrow so that they can watch a movie on the wall. The re-nutrition centre is in the same location, just up the hill a little bit....we are off to there tomorrow to see the babies.
This afternoon we had some free time and were able to walk around town again...before the afternoon thunderstorms! It seems like that is a daily afternoon event...the thunder is so loud you jump every time there is a bolt!
Tonight we packed all the bags that we will be taking to El Tamboral on Wednesday...there are 80 bags full of all sorts of stuff from hats to school supplies to toothbrushes and paste.
I hope everyone is enjoying the blog. Please feel free to post comments or send emails through here.
Love, Lauren and Sara xoxo

The picture of the little boy is so sad. Poor little guy losing both his parents. What an amazing adventure you and Lauren are having together! Let your light shine! :) Love. z.
