Today was another busy and fun-filled day. Life doesn't start happening in LA til about 9.30 - 10ish, so we slept in a little and then headed out about 10. First goal for the day - purchase a camera!
We jumped in a cab that drove us about 1.5 miles ( yes we could have walked but on the map it seemed much further) to Best Buys. We decided it was a bit like d*** Smith or good guys and purchased a kick arse camera. We decided to walk back and plug it in for a full charge.
By this time it was getting close to 12 and we got on the hop on, hop off bus to try and see some of the sites of LA, while conserving some energy.
It was fun and we managed to travel on two of the four routes, most importantly getting on the one down to Santa Monica. What a fabulous place to visit. We walked along the water front and down to the very end of the pier, where we watched some people fishing, but all they seemed to catch was seaweed.
The beach was packed and we got some great photos. Lunch was good in a little cafe / take away / bar. It's amazing the places the you can buy a beer!!
We drove up and down rodeo drive, Wiltshire boulevarde and Santa Monica boulevarde many times, crisscrossing and seeing where the rich and famous live, eat and play.
This afternoon (well early evening) we went a brought some sketchers, souvenirs and had dinner at Hooters (btw, very nice - mick says 100% better than at Rosehill).
Ready for bed now and our flight to Canada.
Interesting thought for the day - I can talk to anyone ( as most of you know). I started talking to a man today at a stand in the Shopping centre adjacent to the Chinese theatre. He was selling t-shirts with a motto on them. He told me the story of his daughter who was working as a make up artist and waitress to make ends meet. One day she woke up and decided to print the motto on a shirt for herself. Her friends loved it and soon she had printed shirts for them. In six months this motto has started to be shipped world wide on t-shirts, bands, books, drink bottles, etc. The motto:
TODAY I CAN DO ANYTHING!
