When we arrived in Surfers we didnt have any accomodation sorted so we went into the information centre and booked into Surfers Paradise Backpacker Resort for 2 nights. The hostel was really nice with a tennis court in the middle area and a bar area that played really good music.
I was waiting outside the room for Vicky when I saw someone walking across the court that I recognised. I said to Vicky that I'm sure that I just saw Peter Hill and she was like really? We went into reception and there he was, Peter Hill from Bournemouth. I know him from Walkabout in town and Vicky knows him from clubbing and though her freinds at home. It was so weird as we knew he was here but to b e in the same hostel... weird! He is working there in the hostel and is going to study and stay. Lucky him!
In the eve we had the chance to go on a bar crawl on the bus! It would take us to 4 clubs, 1 free drink in each and we would be going with 5 other hostels so there would be about 200 of us..all for $30. We thought that it would be a really good idea so we decided to do it as did the 3 other people that were in our room. We all decided to split a bottle of goon and drink before we left as 4 drinks wouldnt be enough!! It was a really good night and we decided to catch a taxi back but the taxi driver was new and ended up getting lost and it took forever to get back.. poor soul! But we didnt mind the car ride!
The next day we just chilled out and headed to the beach for a little bit but it was too hot and sandy so we went round the pool instead at the hostel for the afternoon. We got some dinner in the town and then had a relatively early night.
We checked out at 10:00am but the Oz bus wasnt due to leave until 3pm so we went into Surfers town and looked round the shops and had a bit of lunch. The bus was a tad late but that doesnt matter as we're on our way to Byron Bay!!
