well here is a new blog back by popular demand haha sorry the blogs are so few and far between at the moment but because we arent staying in hostels its difficult to find the internet sometimes and sometimes we find it but its really expensive!! anyway im here now with a new update haha
we have been covering lots of ground in vanetta (the campervans name) we headed straight down to wellington quickly because we have to go that way again on our way back to auckland so no point dwelling too much first time round. we then got the ferry over to the south island (picton) got the late night one so crashed out in a car park in picton as soon as we got off the ferry. we are getting very good at finding free camping spots. we look for nice scenery and toilets and other campervans so we are always safe and secure with facilities near by! we have only been on a campsite for 2 nights out of 10 so thats good for saving money. in the way of showers we have to be very sneaky. sometimes we go in hostles if they are busy and we wont be noticed and sue their facilities (very cheeky hehe) and sometimes we go to swimming pools because then we get some exercise and get to use showers etc for free! so as you can see we really are jippos!!
anyway we headed straight from picton to kaikora (spellings??) which was a really ncie town and we had a lovely 2 days there bythe lake and under the snow covered mountains! we went in a cosypub for a drink and chilled in the sun. the weather was gorgeous for a week and yesterday took a major turn for the worse!! after that we moved onto christchurch which we werent much for, it was a bit built up but we camped in a place called lyttleton which was really cnie again by a lake. its lovely waking up to the sun and a gorgeous scenery it really is postcard stuff.
after christchurch we satyed in a really nice place called lake tekapo, its the most beautiful lake we have seen so far. a lot of the lakes in the middle of the south island are a brilliant torqoise colour, they almost look like they have got dye in to colour them but apparently its rock flour reacting with the sulphur. anyway its gorgeous and again surrounded by snow capped mountains. itys wierd seeing snow when its soooo hot!! wierd. next to our campsite was a place with hot pools so we spent 2 hours lying in them they are hotter than you would even have your bath and they are outdoor and you are looking out on to the lake its gorgeous!! will put photos on when i have a bit more time and a faster computer!!
well from there we headed to queenstown for a few nights where we are now! we met up with our friend chris that we met in australia which was really nice and we spent a couple of days chilling by the lakes and looking around the shops and made use of his hostel facilities. queenstown is definately my favourite part of new zealand its so quaint and cute and its got lots of scenry from lord of the rings so im sure you can imagine its magnificent and beautiful all at the same time! we will be heading up the west coast next and then back up the north to auckland before heading off to fiji!!
ive probably left sooo much stuff out that i wanted to put in but hopefully this will keep you all going until the next installment :)
love lots and miss you all...5 weeks till i see u!!!
