Sam the all star Trecker
It took a long time for us to work out how to get to Singapore from KL! Firstly some tour guides told us to get the coach at 11:30 but when we arrived at the coach station in KL they told us 3 and then couldnt understand us so we ended up getting taxi to Train station and we missed the train so had to wait in the station about 3 hours for the next one. The train journey which was meant to take 6 hours ended up taking about 8 hours after having to get off the train at the border do the whole customs thing and then get back on!! Big tip try and avoid going over too many borders in consecutive days as was very tiresome. Anyway arrived in Singapore and met up with the only other 2 travellers on the train. We shared a lift to where they had already pre booked to stay in a backpackers place and got a dorm room sharing with 2 other girls. It was actually really exciting to be in a dorm I felt like we were one big famile. That night me and Vic went for a wonder and found a nice little pub which sold wine. Ended up becoming best friends with a Singapore bartender and she kept topping up our glasses with wine. Anyway quite a few glasses later me and Vic stumble back to our hostel. From what we had seen so far everyone in Singapore was just soooo nice and friendly and there wasnt as much of a language barrier as everyone spoke English! The next day we did the tedious things we had to do and then had a wonder through China town and around the river and ended up in the World famous raffles. I oreder a Singapore Sling in style and chucked my monkey nut shells on the floor as your supposed to do. Loved the city however you could spend an absolute fortune there. The sky rises just towered over you and everything felt very exciting. It was great. That day headed to the airport ready to catch our very exciting plane to Oz!!! I cant believe a month had passed already however when I look back on it I have done soooo much its unbelievable!
