G'day
Its been a while since i last wrote on here so theres lots to fill you in on.
Since i left Sydney ive been driving down the south east coast, camping in national parks and various small beach towns on my way. One of my favourite places weve been to was murramerang national park at pebbly beach. It was amzing to camp there because we were right in the bush with so much wildlife around us and a beach 5min down the road. There were loads of wild kangaroos around, especially at dusk on the beach, which was amazing to see. we even had a kangaroo wake us up one morning because it was eating right outside our tent!! We also had loads of possoms scurrying around our tent in the middle of the night and often in the morning we would find a huge iguana walking past. It was nice at Pebbly also because there werent many backpackers there. it was mainly aussie families camping in their summer holiday, they gave us lots of good advice about where to go and not to go. We even had one of the Neighbours script editors camping nextdoor to us with his family so naturally i had to find out some future plots from him! Some good stuff is going to be happening in the next year!!
After camping for a while we then went to the capital Canberra despite all the advice not to go because there is nothing to do. The advice was right! there was literally nothing there! we went to the parliment house, and had a look around but most things were closed. (its wierd here things seem to close all weekend!)
From Canberra we drove for 10hours through the snowy mountains to get to melbourne. we spent a few days in Geelong where we were able to easliy get to the Great Ocean road. The Great Ocean Road is well worth driving, its spectacular! Winding roads that follow the cliffs edge along amazing beaches and through lots of small beach towns. Very scenic but not good for people that get car sick!!
That finally brings me to melbourne. Yesterday we went to the Australian Open. We initially went with the idea just to get groundpasses, but when we got there we found we could upgrade our passes to an arena! so we managed to get onto the Vodaphone arena all day for $40 (20quid). it was brilliant, we got to see Serena Williams versus Yung and loads more matches. The best match was definitly Serena, she won the australian open last year so is defending her title this year. She was amazing to watch but very noisy lol.
Today ive just been on the Neighbours tour! Was great fun. we got to travel around in a neighbours bus and visit some of the set and Ramsey street (Thats actually called Pin Oak) It was a lot smaller than it looks on tv though! i got some photos outside the houses and then we got to meet Rosetta (natalie). She was a lot smaller in real life too, really petit! She told us that she has just left the show here in oz to go to italy with frazer to have a baby!! Watch out for her in All Saints though, cuz she said she was in that before neighbours so will be on uk tv soon!
Thats all i can write for now, will write again soon!
