Im at the most gorgoeus island i have ever been to!!! The sea is crystal clear, the sand is soft and so white, and the island isnt very developed. Electricity is only available from a generator from 7pm till 9am so in the day it is incredibly hot with no fan. Im not complaining though as ive just spent all my time in the sea staying cool, even spending some of that time deep deep under water!
I didnt plan to but when i arrived i found out it was popular to scuba dive here. I was with a friend i met and she was booking some dives so naturally i booked a 4day open water dive course lol.
It was really good fun to be learning soemthing new after such a long time of just lazing around. i spent a few days doing under water skills and theory work before finally doing 4 dives as deep as 18metres under water. i saw some incredible things like, sea snakes, lots of nemos, green sea turtles, black tip reef sharks, boxfish and loads more including a trigger fish that tried to attack me and my diving instructor!!! I didnt realise they were so dangerous but it was biting at our fins and we had to keep kicking it!! Apparently a few divers have had holes out of their fins and even ears biten off...and silly me was worried about sharks!!
Although it was a little wierd to not be at home on my birthday and i missed everyone, it was nice to spend it in such a gorgoeus place just drinking at a beach bar and celebrating finishing my dive course.
Last night there was a full moon party on the island which was cool. i dont think it was as big or crazy as the Thailand full moon parties but it was still good fun, especially getting a taxi boat back at 5am that was so tiny the waves were engulving us so by the time we got back i looked like a drowned rat!!! i might as well have swam back to my hut lol
Im heading to Penang tomorrow on the west coast of maylasia. Ill be sad to leave here as its so lovely, bu tim excited to see a new place.
