Hi Sam,
Mum and I have just looked through your pictures and reckon you're having the time of your LIFE! I've got kennel cough at the moment so I'm not too well. Mum has to take me out for walks on my lead and I can't run far. Dad says to say hi too. We're all missing you and I'm saving you some gravy bones for when I see you again.
Love and licks, Lola

Hi Sam,Hope you had a great birthday, your Dad said by the sound of it you were all enjoying it. By now your Mum and Dad should have arrived in Switzerland, so hope they enjoy their week. Martyn is in the Maldives with David Roberts scuba diving, did you know that Bryony David's daughter has been over there a long time teaching scuba diving so she will be glad to see them both. Robert is somewhere on the continent for a month with his pal, so my family are all over the world just now. I am going to have my 1st cataract operation on Monday and Kirsty has kindly said she will bring me home. Then on Wednesday we are both going to the Kestral for a meal in the evening. I am glad you have had snow and enjoying your snow boarding. The weather here is terrible, I should have been going to our scottish dancing barbecue this evening but of course rain has put a stop to that. You certainly sound as if you are having a great time and staying with Phillippa, please give her my love.It will soon be time for me to get my tea so will sign off until next time, continue to enjoy life. Lots and lots of love from Grandma Pegxxxx

Hi Sam. Greetings from Brian & Beryl in Ottawa - staying with our daughter Carolyn - who did a similar trip around the world in 1992 - at the age of 21. She remembers Queenstown where she did a bungey jump - quite an experience!! After 8 weeks in NZ she then went to Oz for 3 months - including working for some time in a Bar near to rocks in Sydney.
She envies your easy communication and access to the internet to get info on where to go. She had to rely on people she met along the way. She had a great time and says you will meet many folk doing the same circuit. But she still came home to the UK and took up a job in Manchester for a few years - before emigrating to Vancouver - a place she found on her trip. So perhaps you will find your future home too - but better if not quite so far away from Harrogate!
Good luck - take care not to absorb too much of the Oz culture - or their beer!
