Well We left Magnetic Island as soon as we could as was raining AGAIN and there wasn't much to do there when it was raining, although I bet it would be lovely if it wasn't raining but we didn't get to see that side of it. Leaving so early meant that we had to sit in th ferry terminal at Townsville for 2 hours waiting for our greyhound bus. But this did mean that we could both try to finish our books that we were not enjoying (Tracey and Bill) we were both determined to finish it.
It was another bus journey for us, 6 hours this time i belive, everywhere is so far away in Aus. This bus journey wasn't so bad though because we got watch dirty dancing.
We arrived in Airlie Beach at 6pm, the hostel that we were staying in (Beaches) was nice and cosey. It had a little kitchen area and fridge, a TV and a walk in wadrobe, which we didnt get to fully use :(. after all the rain of thepast few days all we wanted to do was wash our clothes, and since most if not all of them were dirty this was a perfect time to do it. it felt soooo nice to have clean clothes again that didn't feel damp. We also went to the supermarket and brought lots of salad as this is what we had been craving for days- (mmmmmmm it was good).
The next day in Airlie beach was another one of those organising days, first we sent a small package home with random little bits in (parents keep an eye out for them 7-10 days, then we took a bus to a local shopping centre to replace our broken camera's. You will all be glad to know that we did (wooooo), so you can see lots of photos again. We got the camera in the first shope we went into and it was a good price too. We also took part in some further retail therapy- Tess got some good bargains. it was a nice day as well that day, trust us to go shopping on the one nice day we have seen in a week. We headed back to our room and found some more males in the room, for the rest of the evening we just chilled out in our room playing cards with them all.
The next day we went to the swimming lagoon and did a bit of sunbathing and swimming which was really nice and i randomly bumped into someone i used to work with at Xerox. We had to check out of Beaches and move to another hostel called Magnums, beacuse a night at this hostel came free with our boat package (explained in our next blog). Magnums was not as nice, it was very basic infact, and you didnt even get a pillow or sheets unless you paid. so me and Tess were determined to cope without paying, however it was not as easy as we thought. There was air conditioning in the room which you could not change and it was freezing so we wore many layers in bed lol.
