Well - we arrived in Santiago slightly wearing but alive. Has been a bit of a culture shock but are starting to get over it now. Our spanish is still bad, but have managed to get what we want with mainly singular words and a lot of hand gesturing!
We have been in Santiago now for 3 days and not to worried about moving on...the city is OK if you can ignore the smog, multiple packs of stray dogs and armed guards everywhere...We have spent most of our time sightseeing and getting over our initial jetlag. The smog did clear a bit today and we got a good veiw of the mountains that surround the city.
Tomorrow we head to Medoza, Argentina...an 8 hr bus trip over the Andes which Sam is not looking forward to. I fortunately have a good supply of anti-nausea pills.
More soon from Argentina...
Sams versionNikki is a bit more PC than me so apologies in advance.Flight over was painful. Worst movies ever which I was really looking forward to. Im sure we had four babies surrounding us who proceeded to cry after each other for about 8 of the 11 hours. Niks managed some sleep but I hardly got any but o the bright side they had BlackJack on the games section of the entertainment section.Arriving in Santiago was a nervous wait as we were sure that they had left our bags in Akld which would have been a great start. Leaving the airport was fairly intimidating due to the amount of people trying to get us into their taxi's but I just got pissed off and started saying no to anyone who looked like asking. Getting money out was a mission as it was only on the fourth screen did it prompt us 'do you speak English'? A little wrong way roundNiks has most things under control as my 'laisse fare' attitude would have got us into trouble quite a few times by now. Awaiting the delli belly to strike but luvky for me I brought my own doctor. Not lucky for Niks.Have some good photos that we will put up in Mendoza when we have time. I am the new paparazzi. Cheers Rex for the camera hookup. Being out to good use once the smog clearsTake careSam and Niksps Adz, Chile called wants their hairstyle back
