This involved singing and waving, and then the Tribal chiefs received a gift from the Tamaki tribe - a wooden mask necklace called a Tiki. At least Glen didn't come away empty handed! We then boarded our 'waka' and made our way home, where our overactive bus driver made every nationality get up and sing a national song. To everyone's credit, all countries joined in and Glen enjoyed organising them all over the bus's microphone. As the English sung 'Swing Low Sweet Chariot' instead of the National anthem, the bus/waka driver did insist that we sing 'God Save The Queen' before we got off the bus - 'We must have respect for our wonderful Queen' this little Maori man kept saying! Very odd - not sure what the American's thought of it!
