There are paths created through the rainforest for you to explore it in safety. There are plenty of examples of how vines strangle and cut off trees so they have to grow around them etc. On the left here you can see how multiple vines have caused the tree to actually die and disappear, leaving the mesh of vines to extend where tree once stood.
