We travelled to Mai Chau on Sunday (18th November) - it was a four hour drive each way but the kids were generally good in the car. We had a good guide - called tiger who kept the kids chatty for the long drive to the village.
Mai Chau is beautiful, still green however we got to the village a month after the harvest so not as green apparently as it normally is. We left the hotel around 8:00 am and arrived arond noon. we went for a walk through the Lac Village before having a traditional meal with a villagers with a couple of Bai Hoi's (beer) to wet the pallet.
After lunch we walked through the fields through to the next village of Xa Linh Village ( 18 km away) but half way there we were all tired (expecially the kids) and decided to leave a bit early.
We also stopped by a traditional market at the peak to have some suger cane before the long drive back to Hanoi...
Great trip and worth the day out...
The kids were all tired so we had a good sleep on the sunday.....
