I just wrote a massive blog and then it crashed! Absolutely gutted right now! I have the time to start again! I'm sitting in Singapore airport with 3 hours until my flight so I have the time!
Where to start.
Koh Tao.
So I arrived in Koh tao after a horrific boat journey. The waves were really scary! I was glad to be back on dry land! I got into a taxi (back of a van) with Maya who I had me at the port in Chumpon. We headed to Sariee beach and I found a really nice hostel. It looked like a brand new build but ensuite and the bunks were really nice. Julia - who was also on the boat from hell was in my room. We decided to have a nap and then head to the beach. We had a quick wander and were impressed by the beach and the sea! It wa beautiful. We went for dinner with maya and had an early night.
The next day we headed to the beach again and me and Julia don't a few hours here. We sat in the shade because it was too hot to sit in the sun! We headed back to the dorm to change and then headed out for dinner. We randomly walked phased a group of people signing up for the Koh Tao bar crawl. I thought it looked fun and Julia agreed so we paid our 350 baht for our free vest and free bucket! It was such a good night - spontaneity is good!
We started the night in Choppers bar before heading to a pool party where we drank delicious punch! We then headed to the Koh Tao lady boy caberet show! It was an experience! It was really funny and some of the boys got dressed up and involved at the end! We then headed back to choppers bar before going to the beach for a beach party complete with fire limbo and fire spinning! It was a really fun evening! :)
The next day I had to move dorms because I had booked the weekend in the Koh Tao backpackers! It wasn't a nice as the other dorm but it had air con! I had a nap before heading to the beach with Julia. We watched the sunset and went for dinner at simple life resort. I was naughty and had some western food - pasta! it was the first western meal I had had properly - naturally I had Thai style spaghetti so it was only half western! The pizzas looked amazing!
The next day Julia headed to the south of the island to start a dive course. I'm holing to catch up with her somewhere in oz! :) I met two girls in my dorm - Jo and Rachel; sisters from Nottingham! Our whole dorm ended up going up simple life (again!) for pizza buffet! It was a different system to home where they being you each a slice round at a time so you end up sampling a lot of different pizzas! I had messages Jess from Nappark to say where id be so she joined us for dinner and then we headed to the beach for a few buckets! The girls opted to play a game whereby they had a balloon tied to their foot and they had to pop their oppositions balloons before there got popped. The twist it was all in a ring of fire! I opted out (wimp yes) but got some brilliant photos and videos!
It was time to leave Koh Tao the next day. I was sad to leave! I got the boat to Samui. The boat was better this time as I opted got a slower boat which was actually quite soothing and I fell asleep!
Koh Samui
I met back up with Loz and Lou here! They had lots of stories from their few days in Phuket! We stayed at a place called moonlight hotel near Chaweng beach - it looked nice as it had a balcony but then we discovered it had no aircon! Which Ws a bit of a disaster because it was so hot! There was one girl on the room who kept stealing the fan so there were a lot of fan wars going on!
We went for dinner at ark bar on the beach and met some Aussie boys that were on the boat with Loz and Lou.
7th feb = Full moon party! We did a bit of shopping in the morning before heading to the port to get a boat over to Koh phangan. We got to the party about 730pm. I managed to meet Jo and Rachel in mama schnitzels and bumped into James! Jo and Rachel joined us and headed to the beach where we spent a while in each bar - especially cactus bar! It was so busy! I also managed to bump into Jess! I nipped to the loo and lost the girls - i managed to find Jo an Rachel again but couldn't find Loz and Lou. W had a meeting point but it was so busy and dark I couldn't see them! So I spent the evening with Jo and Rachel and a guy from out hostel in Koh Tao. we had a good night and ended up watching the sunrise at the other end of the beach. It was really pretty. We headed back to Samui on the first boat at 730 or so but it didn't leave until about 830! We had a well deserved breakfast then headed to bed! When we woke up we went out for some dinner and had an early night!
The next day we spent on Chaweng beach - it was very hot! We went to a restaurant called 'crab' for dinner! It had a massive moving crab on top of it! The food was amazing. I had pad Thai (of course) and it was some of the best I've tasted! We ended up at another lady boy cabaret! This was longer an the costumes were a lot more detailed! We then ventured to a bar called Africa for some 241 buckets and a game of connect four! We ended the night in green Mango. The place to be in Chaweng beach!
We got up early the next day and got a tuk tuk to Lamei beach. We got breakfast here and sat on the beach. It was so hot I sat in the shade for a bit! We headed back to Chaweng and ate in the crab restaurant before repeating the night before and going to green mango!
We left early on the 11th to get a boat to krabi. We arrived here late and struggled to find somewhere to stay but luckily we found some cute bungalows and it was our home for 2 nights!
The next day we had to do a visa run. When you enter Thailand by land you only get a 15 day tourist visa - and we needed longer! So we took a mini bus to the border and want into Malaysia for about 10 minutes! It was a really long day!
After dinner me and Loz went to find this aeroplane bar we had heard about- we got hassled into it so brought a drink and to be honest it was a bit of a disappointment. We played a game of pool (badly) and went backup to the bungalows!
The next day was PHI PHI TIME!
Koh Phi Phi Don
We got a boat from krabi and got to phi phi early! It was beautiful. Pulling up into the port the waters were crystal clear and the sun out! Paradise!
I bumped into Jo and Rachel while trying to find a hostel! The girls found a nice guesthouse which was quite cheap. We spent the afternoon on the beach (so hot!) and then went out for some dinner.
The next day we got a small long tail boat to a small bay around the corner from the main beach. The main beach has been spoilt so to find a nice beach you have to go elsewhere. The small bay was beautiful. When we arrived there were about 8 of us in total! It was like our own beach. The water was clear and there were fish everywhere! We spent a few hours here - we did lots of swimming - mainly to cool off! We headed back to the main part of the island an went for dinner and drinks at Jordan's then slinkeys.
The next day I decided to walk to the view point id heard a lot about. I somehow took the wrong turn and went the road way (4km) though forest rather than the direct route up some steps! I finally made it and the view was amazing. It's a shame it was so close to sunset as the photos don't quite capture the view! We had dinner out at cosmic restaurant and went to bed!
The next day we had booked a boat trip around the islands. We spent the day snorkelling, swimming and kayaking. It was amazing. We started off at shark point (no sharks!) and thn went to monkey beach. Here we got a cheeky kayak over to the beach so I could take some photos. After kayaking back to the boat we did a bit of snorkelling. We then went to look at mosquito island and bamboo island. We got to snorkel in a beautiful lagoon before heading to Maya bay! (the beach) - it was beautiful. It was a shame it was so busy and the sun had gone over the mountains so I couldn't get amazing photos - but it was still an experience!
After the boat trip we headed back and went for a quiet dinner at Paddys irish restaurant! Amazing burgers!
The next day We got a long tail boat to long beach. It isn't far from the main beach but it was so hot! It was truly beautiful here. I took some amazing photos and we were able to snorkel and swim with the fish! We saw some sea slugs too which aren't pretty! We stayed here for a few hours before heading back for an early dinner. We went to banana bar to watch the beach. (it had to be done) I had never seen it and I thought it was very strange! .. After the film we played some beer pong! I teamed up with an Aussie called sebastian and we made quite a good team! We won 2 out of 3 matches !! We then headed to Jordan's where we met some of the boys from the boat trip! One was from Auckland so I've get his number in case I get stuck!
We had to catch the 9am boat back to Phuket! It was the end of the phi phi dream! We got a mini bus to the airport and it was time for goodbyes :( Loz and Lou were heading back to Bangkok (jealous) whereas I was heading for Singapore! It was sad to say bye but I'm hoping to see them when I get back to the uk. Need a bit of a Laos reunion!
Singapore next! I shall blog that separately!!
I hope you all enjoyed reading! :):)
Love Sabrina! Xx
