So I arrived Sunday evening in the city of lights and headed for my hotel which turned out to be really cute and in a great location in the 6th arrondisement, which I love. I ate a delicious crepe at the cutest little creperie and talked to the owner and he was this adorable little french man who just made me happy in general. I met up with John Wilson and all his BC in Paris friends and went to a bar or two that night. My 4 days in paris was spent with relatively little to report, I had an amaazing time running around the city- got a bit of alone time to decompress after amsterdam, plenty of delicious coffee in cute cafes, and generally feeling very french. Went out with the BC kids pretty much every night which was really fun- they are all very cool, etc. Halloween was on a Tuesday i think. oh boy. we went to this english pub that was having a halloween party cuz noone in france celebrates halloween, and before we did that we cooked dinner at Amber's house (shes one of the girls there in paris, super nice, staying for the year.)I was dressed up as a devil/angel bcause i had red angel wings and red devil horns with a black shirt- pretty simple i know, but we were in the only costume shop in paris that afternoon, and it was so crowded i literally could not move. agoraphobics and claustrophobics be advised- dont wait till halloween to buy your costume in europe. Anyways, Halloween was really fun, but the following day was probably one of the better days of my life.....my friend from Amsterdam, Natalie, decided to come up to Paris for the day, cuz she is crazier than i am and pretty much awesomely spontaneous in general. So we met up with her friend from college of Charleston and we ran around Paris all day gushing about how amazing life is and how happy we were to be having such an awesome time in Europe. It was sunny, about 55 degrees, and a generally amazing day was had by all. Delicious falafel was eaten in the Place des Vosges, many photos were taken, friends were made, and a bottle of cider was consumed on the banks of the river seine in anticipation for the gnarls barkley concert which followed that evening. oh boy gnarls barkley- such an amazing concert, probably the highest point of my entire vacation. after the show which was held at the base of Montmontre, me and Natalie hiked up to Sacre-Coeur and sat out on the steps looking out over the city while eating yummy crepes and listening to french boys play radiohead on guitars. yeah. yeah. it was one of those moments when all you can do is repeat “yeah” and nod excessively. So anyways, the next day I leave Paris for Barcelona to meet up with Natalie again....
