What wonderful, exciting news. Congratulations! All your hard work, dedicatiion and tenacity deserves such excellent results. Jean (Bryce) and I were just celebrating your success in coffee (only possible becauseJjean made it!) when you rang to say you had a place at Glasgow university! Speechless and over the moon. Thank goodness I'd just fed Ethel. otherwise she would have been forgotten.
What lovely news to receive on her birthday. She and George have double celebratons. Phyl rang, they are so pleased and also' gave me a wildlife update. Your mum and I been quietly please, but Neil and Wilf are rushing round in a frenzy of excitement!
Wilf and I had a chat about his excellent A in Maths, but haven't spoken to Neil he is too overcome!
Love Nana and Ethel

Ruby many many congratulations on achieving your goal and getting a place at Glasgow, the hard work has paid off!
Your mum and dad will have to do all the hard work back here to sort out accommodation etc etc! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Africa before the hardwork begins in September.

Brilliant, terrific, superb, great, stupendous, fanatasitic, absolutely wonderful news!!!!! The best in quite a while.
Congratulations to such a clever girl - and the Shorrock luck strikes again with a place at Glasgow!!!
Glasgow are going to be lucky to have you - but please don't take Aggie or Marble.
So you'll have to get a taste for all things Scottish - like Whisky, Haggis, Scotch eggs and deep fried Mars bars. I'm told the latter are a particular delicacy of Glasgow.
You won't belive how excited your Mum and Dad are - and I'm sure Wilf is beneath his cool and calm exterior.
Looking forward to seeing you again and congratuatlig you in person.
Also looks I'll have to take your Gran to an air display.
Gran And Granddad
spellbound by your activities in the wild! But even more impressed by your A level results received today. Surely your phone call to Glasgow will be well received. Well done Ruby ! Your hard work has been recognized.

Was the helicopter a "Sea King" or a "Squirrel?"

Not sure I want to know what canyon jumping is.
Wow a helicopter ride - that must have been breathtaking.
Dad and I have just spent a night away at 'The Bear' but didn't see any bears or other large animals!
Carry on making the most of it. Miss you Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Haven't been able to get on line this week but I've enjoyed reading your blogs now.
Glad to hear you got a helicopter ride - it must have been really fantastic in that scenery - and not forgetting the animals you saw. By the way the 'anorak' in me will want to know what type of helicopter it was - I know you might not think it important - so you better find out for when you get back.
I was pleased to see in Wednesday's (?) blog that you now realise that males are "magnificent". Looks the trip has been worth it just for that!!!
By the way what's canyon jumping - sounds exciting - hope your mum isn't worried.

Although our lives are quite action packed here, we cannot compete with all the excitement you are having. So interesting and pleased you are gaining so much experience. Ethel still isn't impressed. We are allmissing you, but time is flying.
