Hello to all my beloved ones! :)
first of all i have to start woth the typocal YUPPIIIII! , because i got the visa for south africa. The unfriendly lady got sick( he he) and a really nice one replaced her, so in the end i had no problems obtaining it.:))
after a 4:45 hours flight i got to Dubai, for a stopover. First time i felt like banging my head against the wall was when i found out that i actually needed a visa... I have planned this 13hours stopover to see this city and now... I beed a visa to get out of the airport?! Grrrrrrr.... No need to stress, i head to the visa officer which told me ( second head bang against the wall, guys!) the visa costs 152$...niiiiice! This one being the absolutely cheapest visa for dubai!:) hilarious ,right? But yeah, i was there , i didn't want to miss this chance... So i paid! When i got to the pass control i realize i droped the tiny little 152$-sticker somewhere. So i go back and the security guys, all dresses in white "dresses" and white head cover with a black line wrapped around, start looking for my lost sticker!:) very nice of them! Forgot to mention: they were wearing black, shiny sandals and no underwear... I suppose! I couldn't see any!:))
i figured it out with the sticker, it was on the floor, uuuuups! And i took a taxi which drove me the whole day through the city! Very cheap, correct taxidrivers here!
Dubai: impressing, amazingly consumerist, but stylish! People are dressed up with the finest materials, everything is shiny-glossy, more luxuraey cars than in a showroom.i was the only pedestrian this morning, after the taxi left me at the beach. Beach is not so impressive, but the tall buildings knocked me out! Amazing what the human being can do in the middle of the desert. All together with the new metro stations, the highest tower, burj al arab, jumeirah palm island and the dubai ski it looks like the Venus-Project to me. But noooo chance of ecofriendly thinking here! This i really disliked!:( i had to visit the Mall of the Emirates which is soooooo damn expensive! Then i suddenly had enough of it, jumped in the taxi and got to the airport to maybe get some sleep. I didnt sleep in the last 30 hours.
Another positive thing is that i have this incredible wi-fi in the airport which allows me to stay in touch with you!
Hugs and kisses to everybody...especially to Mama,Gelu, bunicii si Pooooooc!
I'll try to come up with news as soon as i get in Nairobi.
