Stellenbosch was so much fun. We went out every night, we probably got a total of 10 hours of sleep in those 3 days, we are so tired that we can't even sleep, but we met some nice people, Bruce and Siri!
The first night we ended up in this nightclub called Catwalk, which played some rubbish music but we still danced all night long. They even had a ballroom hall on the upper floor, for those obes kean on funky chicken dance. At 4 am the club closed so we were walking through the lively streets of stellenbosch looking for Maccy D. Some guy told us it would be far but Megs really wanted to have some chips so i thought of hitch hiking to McDonalds. Why not? I was worth a try cause the 3rd car stopped and we got a lift. A really small 4 seater car, 3 people were already in and we just jumped inm, me landing on top of the people seating on the backseat. After fullfilling the exquisite culinary wishes if Megs and Gaz consisting of burgers and fries we were standing outside the place trying to figure out how to find our way back to the hostel at 4 am?! Me and Megs, wrapoed up in my white scarf, stoppoed these guys with a car that had no seats in the back, and
asked them for a lift.:) again! That's how the trio got back to bed that night, lying in the back of a car. Free rides through stellenbosch. You could actually feel the youbg spirit of the city and and positive attitude of the students.:)
The second day, waking up at 9, to hit the wibeyards at 10 am. At 11 , after the first winery i was drunk again, cause Beth doesn't like red wine, so i got a double taste of the reds.:) i carried on through the all you can eat cheese buffet of Fairview, the second winery but then the 3rd and the 4th... I don't rememver the names ( i wonder why) and i drank just 2 out of 5 cause i was so smashed. At 5pm we got back to the hostel and i had to take a power nap after this hard day.:) the cheese was amazing, one of the best things i had in a while! We have to come back here! The party was still going on with Braai ( barbecue) and chessy- crackery appetizers, torilla wraps with feta and nuts and cranberries. Yum! As the night came along we were hitting the pubs again. There was this live band at Bohemia, an alternatice pub where i spent some time alone and had shisha with some local photography students. When i was just about to leave i met a couple from the
other teuck, which i really like, and i stayed with them for another couple of drinks and went to Catwalk again. Not as good as the first night but still loads of fun with Tim and Meryl.
The 3rd day was chillaxing :). Woke up late, had coffee by the pool, went for a swim, sunbathing, then me abd Becks had a good healthy fruit and yoghurt breakfast in the park and then we were up for sone art and culture and started wondering around for the univeristary art gallery. We ended up gazing at really nice shop windows, with things we coukd never afford to buy... And in the end we found the art gallery!:) i had a really good day with Bex and i really like her now that i got to know her better. The two of us had an amazing salad for dinner and we were just about to skip a drinkibg night when these guys, Bruce and Siri- aka "Puss-ee" and " Poo" came up wirh the idea of a drinking game. We got smashed with wine and beer shots!:) and we hit Bohemia and Catwalk again, together with Gaz and Meryl, who kept buying Ferrari-red lollipops!:) they were hilarious! So now, after another short night of 4 hours i am standing here in front of our Last drive day
on the truck from Stellenbosch to Cape Aghulus. From the southest poibt of Europe-Tarifa- now i got to the southest point of Africa- Cape aghulus. I've seen Africa at it's northern tip, drove through it for 2 month and now i finally get to the southest point! It's our last camping aswell cause from tomorrow on we will stay at the Ashanti Lodge. We passed Cape Town, which looked amazing.
I found a note in my tents pocket:
" firstly congratulations on being the chosen ones to recieve the power of the Castle. A better name for this tent should be ' the love shack'.
A lot of love has been going on full stop. From intimate couples to wild 5 some's.(more girls than guys):)
Our quest is to make it a global tent.
We hope you can add to the list below of all nationalities who spent a night in the love shack.
Good luck spreading the love, the pickup line ' come back to my castle' works incredibly well.
All the best, we washed the tent thoroughly :).
If you end up at the Vic Falls in Zimbabwe ask for the 2 sisters and they will confirm some storys.

So I'd made it. Cape Agulhas, the most southerly tip of Africa. Almost journey's end, i can't get my head around it. I was standing at the foot of the world with the Indian Ocean on one side and the Atlantic on the other. I needed a moment just to take it in. Africa had been unbelivable, complicated, difficult. In some ways the place was so unjust: the poverty, AIDS, conflict, hardship. I have such an awful lot to think about, I had no real sense of a high just then,i mean personally, and i think it was perhaps cause the trip needed so much reflection. The enormity of what i had been able to achieve began to sweep over me. I thought back of Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe: all those gnarly, muddy, sandy, potholed roads. I feel like i want to turn round and drive back up on my own. I had met so many fantastic people and seen so many fantastic places, and yet I feel that I had only scratched the surface. There is so much to learn about Africa. I know I'll be
back, and I can hardly wait. It feels more like the beginning of a jorney than the end of one.
The last night in " My Castle", all alone. The last party with the people on the truck. The last dinner. The last breakfast tomorrow.
The party ended up with painting our faces and lot of wine. Jules bought wine for lunch and we continued drinking. Than she gave us 100 rand ( 12 $) for drinks at the bar. She is so good in managing money and when she has some left she is sharing with us. Jules is a really nice person.
And finally there is Cape Town cradled in a valley- the sprawl of skyscrapers, suburbs and shanties dwarfed by the might of Table Mountain. I am looking forward for the shark diving, hiking up Table Mountain and how I will get along with the girls and Gaz, cause he has been so weird the past week and it worries me a bit. But I absolutely love the girls, they are so nice!:)
