Ross and Natalie's Travel Journal
Fraser Island was our next destination, a 120km gigantic sandbar which is the world's largest sand island. Apparently it contains more sand than the Sahara Dessert...mmm? In the middle of the island is a dense rain forest with the most stunning natural freshwater lakes that has crystal clear fresh water...it is an amazing place. We teamed up with a group of Germans and hired a 4WD to conquer the sandy stretch ahead. We camped in tents in the evening and visited the sights and swam and sunbathed in the lakes during the days. We saw the Dingo's walking casually on the beach. We got stuck in the sand many times and it took a big push and the great driving skills of Christian to get us up and away.
