Rosie takes over the world!! (solo styly)
hey i can use this photo because after checking into our not -so- great hotel in Jaipur we went to the Amber Fort which is very similar to the Agra fort in Agra. it really is so nice, the amber fort, i took loadsa pics so when i get to a kodak shop ill get them on disk then on here. the agra fort well...it was the kings residence from 1500 onwards but they left it beacuse the town where is it is Amber and the capital moved to the pink city-Jaipur so they all left it and then went to live in the City Palace in Jaipur, which is beautiful as well. there is elephants bathing in the river around the Amber Fort it was jsut the weirdest thing looking up a mountain with this huge fort and surrounded by a moat with elephants i was like..wow, imagine what it musta been like when this place was actually 'alive' back in the 16th century. we visited the city palace the nest day with the msot enthusiastic tour leader ever called Pram or Bram, none of us are really sure. he talked so much in the sun most the group got sunburn but i dont seem to be catching the sun goddammit so i was ok, which is nice for a change. ah yes we went to the observatory as well, built by a king for his love of astronomy, everything is so internse here though, the detail, the workmanship, the time and effort they put into everything, i mean looking back on it now...how could they be bothered? in 40 degrees of heat to work day in day out for years and years...painting frescoes and carving diamonds and making gold and silver sheets to mould over designs..it really is just amazing, their dedication to their temples, palaces, mosques etc... think i spelt mosque wrong :S.
went to the market and bought some bracelets, it was cool, went with three other ladies called Britt Shan and Nikki. then afterwards me and Nikke met the others for a Bollywood film, it was actually really good. i love all the dancing and the music, so yeh may be renting a bollywood once in a while when i get home. pretty funny, jsut when ur losing the plot, cause its all in hindi, a random sentence in english will pop up. funniest thing amongst our group was when a man was jabbering on in hindi for ages and then goes 'and thats a fact' we're all like 'ahh, useful!'
all knackered that night so went pretty much to bed...got something else to tell you about what happened that evening but ill post that on the website later cause i have to tell my parents over the phone first...in suspense? dont be..it isnt that exciting!
yeh well other than that jaipur is called the pink city cos its all pink, pretty self explanatory but yeh. amazing palace called palce of the winds, its so pretty, only stopped for a photo stop though and whil;st we stopped i got a bit caught up looking at the snake charmers hu literally charm snakes by playing this weird music, i must admit, they nearly had me in as well...!
