Rosie and Joe in South America
hello, we are now in a small, remote town called Samaipata just south west of Santa Cruz. It took us 26 hours to get here after the idea of a somewhat shorter journey went out the window due to mud slides, one way roads and f***ing gigantic trucks. we wound our way down some mountains for a while and then it began to rain. it was madness, all the 'men' on the coach had to get out and push these bloody lorries, carrying assorted cargo from trees to metal housng structures, up the hills in the pitch black... nightmare.
anyway we are here it is lovely, although we leave tonight, we spent the day going around the sights.. amazing waterfalls, shoddy restaraunts and a huge rock. the huge rock was actually lovely, it is a pre incan religious sight 200 meters long and 60 meters wide where it is thought they carried out relligious cerimonies and sacrifice. the rock is covered in carvings and niches, it is still very misterious and has a very impressive air to it.. one historian has even hypothosised that one of the sets of groves was a U.F.O landing strip. very interesting.
anyway we are waiting to catch a bus to Sucre which should only take 12hours.... fingers crossed! lots of fast traveling at the moment, tiered(says me) and feeling fresh (says joe).
hope all is well back home.
miss you all and yes we are takng our vitamins!! lots a luv. xxxxxxxxxx r
