Mardi Gras 2006 I knew that it was going to be big. But I didn't realise how big. The whole city seems to stop for the parade and thousands of people liine the streets to watch. The parade doesn't start until about 7:45, so it's dark and the photos don't do much justice. But the atmosphere is fantastic and everybody is happy, cheering and joining in the fun. Road Trip to Narooma We hired a car - well a little truck almost - for the drive down to Narooma. This is a small coastal town about 360km south of Sydney. It was good to get out of the city for a few days and the purpose of the journey was to meet Phil's relatives (Brenda and Martin, Aunt and Uncle) who were very hospitable. Just a quick note to say that arrived safely and having a good chilled out time in Sydney. Driving to Narooma tomorrow which is about 300km south of Sydney. If we survive that, then Mardi Gras is on Saturday!
