The weather looked good so we went to campsite. A storm came through during the night so we had to pack a wet tent. Xena got to sleep in the tent with us so that's a first.

Traveled to Athens yesterday but the strikes and demonstrations made transportation too risky so we just stayed at the airport. This morning we rented a car and drove to Delphi with it's wonderful ruins. Tomorrow we will probably check out Thebes and that will be our last full day.

Had quiet day yesterday lounging around the pool and going for short walks. Watched a big fat Greek wedding and had cocktails as the sun set. Today, we rented a car and drove all over the island. There is an amazing ancient Greek city about 2000 ft up a cliff. It is quite a drive and you have to be careful not to look down. Lots of things were not open on Sunday.

Ready to catch the Flying Cat ferry to Santorini, we were alarmed to find a gale blowing and waves crashing over the breakwater. With nothing to do but brave the seas, we set with 400 others at 40 knots over 2 metre waves. Not exaggerating to say that half got sick and one heart attack. We were in the other half thanks to Gravol. Took the bus, then walked to our hotel through the touristy main street of Fira.

Ron's birthday btw. We checked out of Hotel Ionas in Chania a day early and drove the little Hundai to Heracali sothat we would have time to board the ferry next morning. Had a grand time squeaking through the streets in the old town, getting lost, trapped, etc. Found our hotel at last and did a walking tour.
