DAY TWENTY SIX
A far smoother ride back on the ferry made Jasmin a much happier camper.. But midway through the journey, the tropical thunder splash visited again! Incredible rain, really was. By the time we made it off the ferry, onto a bus and to the Speed ferry headquarters we were undeniably drowned rats! So that exposure to this didn't last much longer, we hailed a taxi and set off to Kampot, advertised as the must visit place for seafood. 4 hours later we arrived at the Natural bungalows in Kampot, which was like a little private jungle paradise right on the river. Jasmin booked in our reservation, and was duly informed that we would be given the nicest room in a treehouse bungalow. I was excited in Big Kev's words ( make sure you say that out loud greeny!) The very helpful Cambodian husband and wife owners must of thought we were honeymooning, as we were presented with bungalow named 'The Pink Room'. It was most certainly pink, which pleased Jasmin, and even more when she saw the horror on my face! Ha Ha! It was a really nice room to be fair, even though I don't think I've seen as much pink associated items and decor in one room in my life!! It did however have a hot shower and loads of balcony space to hang all of our drenched clothing, which was quite a lot as Jasmin's cloth suitcase was well and truly soaked to the core! We had a little wander around what is quite a peaceful and chilled Kampot, trying out the local Irish bar ( O'Neils of course!), then onto what was described on Trip Advisor as ' The best ribs in Kampot'. I tell thee, probably better ribs than most of the ribs I have consumed. Good grief they were good - peeling off the bone, barbecued to perfection in a mighty fine American/Asian style fusion sauce! If you visit Kampot, have a little trip to 'The Rusty Keyhole', and it has nothing to do with any kind of insinuation! An early night was had, as another bus journey was ahead in the morning, plus the lack of sleep apparently due to the cockroaches attacking Jasmin in Koh Rong, for which she remembers nothing about ( it involved me being maliciously beaten to an inch of my life, whilst Jasmin incoherently shouted the word 'cockroaches' over and over again) . I reassured her that there wasn't any, but deep sleep jazza was not listening!

Greeny Before I had even read the "Make sure you read it out loud" bit I had already done it and had a quiet chuckle to myself sat at my desk! Eladdy Big Kev
