happy new year andy. had a wild one as you can well imagine. went to park hall near camelot, not quite as good as what you did but there you go... need to get out of the uk now, its depressing! our ian had a minter got some good pictures, he had that much of a good time that he's going back in april. Ive been applying for jobs all over the show, hopefully one will come up were the sun always shines and the beer always flows. ha ha ha! have a good one.

Great pix from your travels despite your lost camera. Glad to hear you enjoyed Raffles and especially the Singapore Sling. Its one of our very best places to see (and drink). Poor Bali - hope it didn't spoil your Christmas festivities - from the sounds of it you two can have fun anywhere.
Sophie shocked us all by arriving unanounced on the 22nd Dec. She phoned her dad at 6.45 am and asked "Can you do me a big favour please?" Expecting the worst he didn't really know what to say!!! She then proceeded to ask him to open the front door. Hysteria in the Newton houshold for several hours!
Nevertheless Holly went off skiing on 27th and Uncle John & I went to Goa.
Cows in the street, monkeys up trees and a very lively New Years Eve. Loads of Russians in the hotel. Funny how so many of the men seems to be old, fat and scarred in equal quantities but accompanied by very young, very pretty and exceptionally well dressed Russian lovelies...........? Can't work that one out!
Goa was a revelation. Such friendly people and so cheap. The beaches pretty and clean and the sea like a warm bath. Starfish and hermit crabs, tiny fish and sand crabs too. Next time you go travelling you might consider India!

Yep roofs good! shame about the rest of the economy, 80% of it relies on tourism (in some way) and right now there isn't any, i read the World Tourism Organisation is implementing some crisis management strategies, it's like my leisure management degree is unfolding before me. It's not for me to worry though, we're off to Australia tomorrow night, yepee!

Happy New year guys! after reading your Singapore entry I realise now that you flew from the most modern and well equipt airport in the world to what can only be described as a chicken shed in Bali. Have they at least built a roof on Bali Airport yet? Hope all is going well, continue to keep us posted. Emma x

Hopt you had an exciting new year, we had a quiet due,Roly staggered up the stairs on the stairlift and burnt out the clutch! After a couple of whiskeys Marge slept on the floor!

From a wet and windy Alston to a sun soaked Bali,where the order of the day must be shorts in shorts! We will hold up our glasses and wish you two guys on your epic journey a very happy and eventfull New Year.
