Isle Grande (16- 20 May) After rocking it out in Rio, we decided to hit he beautiful island of Isle Grande to recoup. After saying big farewells to the mellow yellow crew we departed along with our new gang comprising of 3 fellow english dudes and two aussies. We headed south 3 hrs by bus and then caught a boat that took an hour to arrive at the island. It was beautiful, after days of cloudy weather in RIO the sun finally came out just at the right time, lighting up the island! The island itself is pretty small and doesn't have any roads, the only street exist across the beach front, the rest of the land is tropical forest and beach. We stayed for three days. At night there was no nightlife so we ate out and hit the sack early. We did however indulge in cake eveynight. It was a bit of a crazy island, they had hardly any bars yet they boasted three ice cream shops and two outdoor cake stands. At it was all so good, we all had different cakes every night and occasionally treated ourselves to the ice cream. The ice cream shops were the best i have ever been, they had all the toppings you could ever wish for. So that was our nigh time, our days went like this> Day one Beach, body surfing the big waves Day two Scuba/boat trip Two of the guys within our new gang wanted to scuba, so we went along for the boat ride, had fun sunbathing on the boat, snorkinling and messing about. In the afternoon on the way back to land our boat got followed by 15 dolphins, it was amazing. Day three hired some kanoes and paddled around the island, landing on random beaches, some private other not!! stayed at one for dinner and played football and keepyups in the sea, so chilled and beautiful. we also visited an old prison on the beach front that was used for leapers years ago. that was more creppy then chilled. Day four took an hour and a half walk through the forest to an awesome beach.
