Well people we´ve arrived! Flights were ok and on time. A stewardess mentioned some bags handn´t made the flight from Heathrow due to a mix up at Terminal 5. That made Rob feel really ill and he was sick about 5 times on the plane (moreso to do with tiredness and nasty plane food)! Luckily our bags arrived safely and we were quickly on our way to our hotel in Lapa. Hotel = not the best and dont think they actually had our reservation, but we managed to get a room anyway and are staying in a double room with a see-through bathroom door! We´ve improvised by using the clothes line and bed sheets to make a curtain - very good idea bringing those thanks to those who recommended them!

Slept well (although ear plugs and our clean sleep sheets were necessary) and today we ventured out into Lapa and walked in a big circle so at least we know a radius around the hotel and have found our feet a bit. Also got the metro to Botafogo in search of a hostel but couldnt find it so we´re going back tomorrow. Weather was ok this morning just cloudy but very warm around 25 deg c, then started raining so we got a little wet!

Now back at the hotel for a rest before we go out for food and some drinks and we will update in a few days.
