I had the joy of my first trip experience with a travel towel today! The reason they're so bloody small is because they don't actually dry you for toffee. in fact I'd probably have more sucess with a piece if Thorton's best. They just stick limply to your body, and seem to get the hump when u try to roughly rub it across your backside and give you towel burn.
Waking up this morning was nice. 5:30 am Bangkok time, I was awake after just 5 hours sleep, but the best quality sleep I've had for days!!
I'd forgotten where I'd be but a few minutes of thought had me in the right place!
I love waking up in a hostel bed. this in itself is an adventure, whether you asleep, awake, drunk, ill - these are the variety of things that go through your mind -
"oh god, I'm dead, I'm in a coffin, whats happened!!!
(eyes adjust)
oh thank god"
"Will the person above me move too much one night and I'll be squashed between two bits of rotten woodworm infested bunk, impailed no doubt by the ladder?"
"Oh god, oh god, that food has not gone down well. oh god, I'm on the top bunk and about as limber as a ballet dancing rhinoceros. How will I do this? Jump? (Risk-bottom exploding on impact with floor) Backwards down the ladder (Risk-bottom leaking on way down) "
"Please please please don't wee on my head tonight" (this one can be thought or said outloud to the drunken room mate who just climbed gingerly onto the bunk above you)
"Great, I'm by the door, does this mean I'm turning the lights off and on and letting in drunkards.......I think it does!! note to self - no more next-to-door bunks!
**and finally......
"I wonder what thread count these sheets are.....hmmm ....."
Last night, we went for some Thai grub and according to everyone, it was the worst meal they've had to date.,
JINXED IT HAVE I?!
