Chocantariy is a town just outside Momostenango with very little public services (no buses, medical services, running water etc) This is where we are building the majority of the tanks and due to Chocantariy´s poverty it was chosen as the town that many charity ngo´s in Antigua decided to focus on-CasaSito, Mariposa, Fundacion los Ninos, Construcasa and Give Kids a Chance joined forces and the results were very easy to see! Construcasa built two classrooms, CasaSito was responsible for planning, coordination, volunteers and providing a large part of the funds, Los Ninos built the creche and the first floor, Give Kids A Chance provide food (3 meals a day) and school equipment! Mariposa provided more school equipment to top it off! Three women from the town were trained up as bakers and now work full time in the panaderia providing food for other villagers and giving them some source of income for their families!
