We spent the day walking the city by foot, checked out the railway station to be sure that we know where to catch the train tomorrow as it is stopping enroute from Saigon so we'll need to board quickly. Woke to bright skies this morning and set out on foot to explore the Citadel and Imperial City about 2km from our hotel. The Citadel was heavily bombed by the Americans but the restoration project is well under way and there is plenty to see. As we are out of the main season there were very few other visitors - great for photo opportunities. We moved onto Hue this morning. Very sad to leave beautiful Hoi An and wave goodbye to the lovely people at the Riverside Hotel. We made the journey of 80km by car over the mountain pass and the views were spectacular even in the mist and slight rain.
