We arrived at Lake Bled and found a youth hostel, again too cold for us wusses to camp, dumped our stuff and set off to check out the views of the lake. It was getting dark soon after we arrived so we didn´t get to do a lot that day. We shared our dorm with some kiwis who were doing pretty much the same itinerary as us all the way, so will no doubt see them at the next stop! We did the walk around Lake Bled, it was really picturesque at one point with Julian Alps in the background. We considered getting a gondola out to the monastry in the middle of the lake but at 15 euros each we decided to give it a miss!! Instead we spent the afternoon doing canyoning which was awesome. It was pretty much a lot of abseiling and jumping off rocks into really deep pools of water, we had such a good time!! I kinda shat myself with the abseiling I have never liked it that much but loved the jumps, was even the only girl to do the big jump and two of the guys chickened out too! Not Dave though, he was right in his element as you can see on the video! After a few hours in the canyon we were starting to get a bit cold, even with 5mm wetsuits, so had a nice hot shower and were then ready for hot chocolates followed by a beer or two! Really enjoyed Bled, it was nice and small and in beautfiful surroundings, could have done with an extra day to do a hike in the national park, but had to be in Austria on 29th.
